Youth Programs
- Liberated Minds: is a 39-week psycho-educational group designed to address the issues that prevent young Black men to function at their full potentials. Using a model of dialogue, reflection and action the program attempts to bring knowledge and understanding of how the broader Social Determinants of Health impact the health and lives of young people.
- Lunch Bunch: is a 13 week program hosted at White Haven Junior Public School during the lunch break focusing on young male students. This weekly program features presentations from guest speakers on different topics ranging from bullying to peer pressure, aggression to conflict resolution, gender and masculinity to mental health and substance use. This program also uses multimedia to enrich the weekly lessons.
- Women in Motion: is a 39-week psycho-educational group designed to address issues that prevent young Black women to function at their full potentials. Using a model of dialogue, reflection and action the program attempts to bring knowledge and understanding of how the broader Social Determinants of Health impact the health and lives of young people.
- Youth Health Network: is an innovative, action-oriented group of young people that share a commitment to supporting the healthy development of other youth living, working and playing in Malvern. The Youth Health Network coordinates events, organizes information/education sessions and hosts discussion forums.
- Youth Speakers Bureau: is an initiative involving young people who are empowered and mentored through peer-mentorship opportunities, to utilize various youth engaging mediums such as motivational speaking, talking circles, drama, poetry, and spoken word to share with peers and the wider community.
